OMG Leah Bradley from James Dunlop and Sue Bushell from the WDL have just been to the grand opening of Ronald McDonald House in Newtown.
Frances Fraser of Honour Creative has done an amazing job as the Interior Designer. This was no “paint by number” installation. Frances has  a great eye for colour, design and proportion….Absolutely gorgeous… an all-round inspirational project.

Colour Reignites the Industry

Stronger colours are emerging this season, although one can still sit comfortably with pastels, modern versions of shell, pink and grey.

Lots of interesting combinations such as strong yellow golds with charcoal. Fushia and navy, tangerine with aqua or jade. Interiors colours always mimic the fashion industry.

This month at the Wellington design Library we have seen some astonishing collections:

Unique fabrics have launched their new Zimmer Rohde home collection, inspired by the cultural diversity of urban living. The Ardecora collection Les Années folles, state of the art twenties inspired collection, view on the Unique website.

Unique fabrics also showing their new UV pro collection and extensive well coloured indoor /outdoor range.

Trimtex have released new tiebacks, exciting range of upholstery fixings, diamond studs and new fringing for your cushions or curtains.

James Dunlop have had huge success with their Art and Soul collections, breathtaking example of digital printing, reproducing them across velvets, canvas and linens and wall art. Their Mokum brand released a new collection designed by Catherine Martin.

This has been inspired by Catherine`s passion for the flora and fauna of her native country Australia, sparked in part by her extensive research for the design of Baz Luhrmann`s film Australia

Just this week we saw the very latest from the Sanderson, Zoffany group distributed in NZ by Textilia.

Chris Warren the export manager for the group was here from the UK, speaking passionately about the new collections. Richmond Hill from Sanderson. Showcasing the skill of the Sanderson design team and Zoffany Town and Country, sophisticated mineral inspired colour palette, beautiful and luxurious quality such as wool satin, silky velvets, tweeds and prints, both have fabric and wallpaper collections.

Also a mention new Textilia stock collections, stylish, refined and timeless widewidth drapery.

Looking forward to the up and coming launch of the latest Andrew Martin represented by Unique fabrics. Always an innovative stunning collection. If you get a chance, look at the latest edition of the Andrew Martin design review book, very inspiring.

Zoffany and Sanderson

We are lucky to have the very smart Up -Chair by Martin Ballendat for Tonon (See Pic above)  as a sample in the WDL.
Their new showroom in Auckland is fabulous, fun night to be part of.
